Moelis Adds Insurance Banker
Moelis & Co. now has in-house coverage of the insurance sector

Moelis & Co. has hired John Sipp as a New York-based managing director. He will cover the insurance industry and was most recently head of the Americas insurance investment banking group at Credit Suisse.
"The financial services sector continues to be an area of increased activity, and our clients in this sector require experienced advisors to help develop strategies and evaluate potential opportunities amidst a rapidly changing landscape," said Ken Moelis, Moelis & Co.'s eponymous chief executive, in a press release. "Adding John's insurance expertise to our seasoned financial institutions group allows us to further broaden our global coverage of the sector and deliver independent advice and strategic solutions to our financial services clients."
Sipp came to Credit Suisse via the firm's 2000 acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, which he joined as a FIG managing director in 1998. Prior to DLJ, Sipp worked for UBS and spent 11 years on the FIG team at Goldman Sachs.
Moelis & Co., which has been undergoing a rapid expansion, now employs 270 professionals across offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York, London and Sydney.
