Jefferies Adds Head of CDO, CLO Trading

Anbar-Colas joins bank's growing London fixed-income effort

Jefferies & Co. has added Sharif Anbar-Colas as a managing director and global head of collaterized loan obligation and collaterized debt obligation trading, the bank announced today.

Anbar-Colas will be responsible for all CLO and CDO trading in the MBS/ABS group, which is part of Jefferies’ fixed-income division. He will be based in London and will report to Johan Eveland and William Jennings, co-heads of the global MBS/ABS group.

“We are very pleased to welcome Sharif to lead Jefferies' growing CLO/CDO trading group in Europe and see his joining as another important step in the continued expansion of Jefferies’ global fixed-income business,” Tim Cronin, global head of the fixed-income division at Jefferies, said in a statement.

Jefferies’ fixed-income business now has more than 450 professionals globally, according to the bank.

Anbar-Colas joins Jefferies from Cohen & Co., where he was a managing director and head of European ABS and global CLO trading. Previously, he worked at UBS, where he was executive director and head of global CDO trading. Prior to that, he worked at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers in a variety of sales and trading positions. Anbar-Colas received a BS in finance and international business from Georgetown University.
