Nomura International Plc said on Monday it has hired 150 former Lehman Brothers professionals as part of an effort to build up its European fixed income operations.
Nomura's London office said the hires will be part of Nomura's existing credit, interest rates and foreign exchange businesses. The fixed income businesses will continue to report to Zenji Nakamura, global head of fixed income.
"The people who are coming on board are known for their world-class capabilities and I am confident they will add tremendous value to our existing operations," Sadeq Sayeed, Nomura's chief executive of the acquired businesses in Europe, said in a prepared statement.
Nomura's parent company agreed to acquire some of Lehman's European, Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific operations last month.
