Another Citi Banker Joins Greenhill

Flicker is the third Citi banker to start at Greenhill this year.

James Flicker, most recently Citigroup's global head of paper and forest products banking, has left the bulge bracket for Greenhill & Co., the third banker to do so this year.

Flicker, 43, will focus on the paper and forest products sector at Greenhill, where he was named a managing director. He has spent 15 of his 20 years in investment banking specializing in paper and forest products. Prior to Citi, he worked at UBS.

"So far this year we have recruited senior investment bankers in telecom, healthcare devices, healthcare services and paper/forest products, as well as launched a San Francisco office and a fund placement group," said Scott Bok, Greenhill co-chief executive, in a statement. "We will continue to add industry expertise and new geographic reach as attractive opportunities arise."

Last month, Greenhill hired Richard Jacobsen Jr. as a managing director in its healthcare services group. Jacobsen was part of the Citi franchise for 17 years, most recently as head of healthcare services investment banking.

Meanwhile, in March, Greenhill brought on Michael Giaquinto as a managing director concentrating on the medical devices space. Prior to Greenhill, Giaquinto was head of the US healthcare group at Citi, and like Flicker, he worked at UBS earlier in his career.
