Jefferies Adds To Energy Practice
Eads was formerly co-president of the group along with Claire Farley.

Jefferies expanded its energy investment banking group, Jefferies Randall & Dewey, with the hire of Stephen Straty from Bear Stearns. Additionally, the firm reshuffled management and appointed Ralph Eads III chairman of the group, and David Rockecharlie and Straty group co-heads.
The trio will be responsible for driving the activities and growth of Jefferies energy advisory and capital markets practice.
Straty worked 17 years at Bear Stearns, most recently as a senior managing director and head of the natural resources group. Prior to Bear, he held positions at Smith Barney and Prudential.
Rockecharlie is a 14-year veteran energy banker who has worked at Jefferies for the past five. Prior to Jefferies, he was an executive at El Paso. Corp. He also held positions as an energy investment banker at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and SG Warburg & Co.
Eads was formerly co-president of the group along with Claire Farley. Farley will return to the oil and gas industry to become a consultant and advisor to the firm. Also, Eads has also been appointed a vice chairman of Jefferies & Co., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group.
Jefferies Randall & Dewey has a team of more than 75 investment banking professionals who have completed almost 70 transactions worth over $27 billion in 2007. In February 2005 Jefferies acquired Randall & Dewey, an M&A adviser in the global oil and gas industries.
