Mitsubishi UFJ Names European Chief
De Souza was formerly head of Citigroup Alternative Investments' hedge fund group.

Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International named Clifford De Souza chief executive of its European banking and brokerage operations.
Previously, De Souza was CEO of EMG Investment Management and prior to that was head of the hedge fund investment group at Citigroup Alternative Investments in New York. He is the first non-Japanese CEO of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities since it was established in 1983.
De Souza replaces Seiichi Takeda, who returns to Tokyo where he will assume a senior management role. Takeda has been Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International's CEO since August 2004 and oversaw the merger and integration of the Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group and UFJ Securities subsidiaries in Europe in 2005.
