A Union's New Cause: The SEIU's Stephen Lerner details what exactly the union wants from the private equity industry

In April, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) issued a report looking at the private equity industry. The following month, Andy Stern, president of the union, spoke before the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee about private equity's effect on workers and firms. The SEIU contends that private equity firms in this country can and should be doing more to help the average worker achieve more financial success. In May, IDD's sister publication Mergers & Acquisitions had a chance to talk with Stephen Lerner, director of the SEIU's private equity campaign.
